simple tom yam

Ingredients:
3 bowls of water
3 tablespoons of tomyam paste
1 stalk of serai, slightly crushed
1 medium onion, sliced to rings or wedges
1 tomato, cubed
1 piece of chicken keel, cubed or sliced
some cabbage, cut into bite size
some cili padi, crushed
1 limau kasturi, juiced
sugar, salt, and pepper to taste

Method

  1. Boil the water with the cabbage and serai.
  2. Once boiled, add in tomyam paste, cili padi and onion.
  3. Bring to boil.
  4. Add in chicken pieces.
  5. Once the chicken is cooked, add in the tomato and limau kasturi juice.
  6. Add sugar, salt, and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve hot.

Serves 3

This is a simple tomyam recipe that i came up with the limited stuff i had. it tastes nice, sweet enough, sour enough, but not spicy enough! my cooking memang tak setanding my mom's! her tomyam tastes superb! but at least i have half the hainanese blood in me so i can cook half as nice as her :p oh ya, i had this with beehoon :)
